A local conveyor manufacturer contacted Rotor Technical Services after securing a contract to supply conveyers overseas to a hot and humid climate.

Problem

The conveyer manufacturer was required to fit non standard motors to the conveyors to meet with his client’s specification within a short time scale for delivery. Initially the conveyor manufacturer contacted the motor manufacturer direct and they quoted him a 14-16 weeks delivery on the motors he required, which was totally unacceptable as his client required a prompt delivery.

Solution

Rotor Technical Services were asked to look at supplying the modified motors to the client specification with an improved delivery time. We increased the IP rating (ingress protection) from IP55 to IP56 which increased the moisture protection to protection against low power water jets (all directions) and Tropicalized the motor windings to protect against humidity. The motors were delivered within the customers time scale at competitive prices.
